About Marina
Marina Guerra is the Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in Houston. Before that, she was an EEOC Investigator and Supervisory Investigator for over 20 years. Marina has her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She was also an EEOC Investigator and Supervisor for over 20 years, so she has seen firsthand what happens when organizations don’t adequately take care of the people side of their business. She points out that people don’t set out to be bad, but working in an organization is complex, especially as you take on leadership roles. We need to slow down and make sure we are proactively taking care of our people, including treating them fairly and equitably, but also creating a safe environment and being open to tough conversations.
